The contractor for Downtown Redevelopment has requested additional partial closures from October 4-6 to facilitate the remaining work on this project. The north, south and west lanes at 50 Street and 50 Avenue will open to traffic this evening (October 4).
The Town welcomes a new set of banners along Golf Course Road. The student-designed banners are part of an active transportation initiative with Ever Active Schools, Parkland School Division, and the Town of Stony Plain.
Trail paving is complete. Concrete work for the art installation will take place in the next few days.
The Town is calling on residents to become champions of poverty reduction in the community. The virtual Poverty Advocate Certificate training program is available to residents who want to learn a human rights approach to poverty reduction.
Some exciting final touches for the Downtown Redevelopment project. The north entrance pillars are now up at the 50.
Telus is still working diligently in the Forest Green neighbourhood to install each house with PureFibre. With Halloween this weekend the Town would like to ask parents and trick-or-treaters to be mindful of taped off areas.
Council Revisits Land Use Bylaw Cannabis Amendment. Second and third reading were given to the Land Use Bylaw Cannabis Amendment during last night’s meeting.
A new subsidy program for flooding prevention is being introduced by the Town. The Backwater Subsidy Program offers up to $800 of financial assistance for interior or exterior backwater valve installation.
Town Welcomes Newly Elected Council. The Town of Stony Plain has welcomed the newly elected Town Council.
Stony Plain Transit is waiving fees for residents on municipal election day. Route 565 will offer free rides on Monday, October 18 to assist community members needing transportation.
